A Knight's Diary. . . .

Recommended Posts

I have not found true honour before
nor hope to find any through this place.
And should I fall among these poor souls,

shall let my body serve as notice ahead.
Though my sword is sharp and my hands are still,
remains wondering which of my limbs will be left.

The halls are whispering and thousands fold old.
Words of the kings and knights died in time,
them whose swords are sheathed in the land so cold.

A moment's rest and silence I have stolen
are naught for the loud and chaotic stories I'll tell.
I am a knight whose life fated to be fallen.

Now I hide my ink and grasps upon my sword,
from where I sat and left this page.
I took my step into the unknown dark void.

I had my flight through horrors and such,

my sword grew duller as more before.

Less of a knight and more of a man

that I've become and surely forever will last.

I've crossed paths with a familiar face,

whose heart and eyes were plucked hollow fast.

I left with a much overwhelmed will,
for what more of this nightmare awaits?
Shall I leave as one with myself's sanity?

I dared not to concede or another,
but what can a man strive facing devils?
Can faith and sword alone save all that matters?

Of such place where sunlight was deprived entry,
only those eyes that gazed from the darkness were bright.

I have set my sword upon their hearts and still

they all remain afoot and tall.
Alas, to cut the bond of the body to their minds,
a mere obvious plight, I call.

I have more ink as I could for the pages,
may be it for one to read :
"Turn back, stranger, leave the unknown for better."
