-- Update October 4, 2017
The database migration has been successfully finalized!
You should now be able to log into the renewal beta server using your main account information. You will notice that all your characters, items and progress was migrated to the renewal server. The clothes color and hair color have been purposely reset to make adjustments for the palettes system.
As a reminder, the renewal server is in beta mode while we balance the skills damage, delays and adjust the equipment's MATK/ATK and DEF to fit the new renewal formulas. At this time you should be able to play the renewal server with your main account but keep in mind that the server will remain in beta mode for the next 2 weeks. This means that if we discover any game breaking bug that forces us to roll back the server then we will have no choice but to roll back the server to TODAY.
There are still many things that need to be done, this is just the beginning of the Live Beta testing. The website and control panel still need to be modified to connect to the renewal database and the download links on the main site still point to the old full client. For now you can download the beta client from here.
Once you download the beta client you will not need to download another full client when the beta phase is over. The current beta client is now the official patcher and client. So download and hop on DreamerRO so you can start playing around with all the new features!
-- Update October 1, 2017
In case you were not yet aware, the DreamerRO staff have been working on a giant update which consists of updating our client and emulator from the current version (2010) to a newer version (2017).
In the last 7 years the emulator has done a lot of changes to the structure of the database by adding new tables, columns and renaming existing columns. This makes it extremely complicated to transform our current data to fit the new structure of the database, but not impossible.
Tomorrow Monday, October 2nd at approximately 7 am Eastern Time, we will perform a database back up that we can use to start migrating the live server's database into the test server. This means that after tomorrow, whatever you do on the Live (Pre-renewal) server will not be saved and/or migrated to the test server.
I expect the migration of the database to take 24-48 hours before the database can be ready to be used on the new test server. Since the database is almost 8GB, any small change to the structure takes a tremendous amount of time because the data has to be recreated for each change.
Once the database structure is modified to match the new emulator, we will reboot the test server and you will be able to log-in and play the test server with all the items and characters you have on the current live server. There will be no loss of items, characters or progress. Whatever you have on your account tomorrow is what you will have on the renewal server when the migration is over.
Following the migration, the renewal server will still be considered under "beta" testing for another 1-2 weeks. During this time we hope to smooth out any further error that gets reported, as well as start balancing skills damage and effects.
Note that after the migration to the renewal server there is a possibility that any progress made during the 1-2 weeks of skill balancing may be roll back. If we find a bug that cause any harm to the economy of the server or causes items to be lost then we will roll back to the back up that will be performed tomorrow.
The first 2 weeks of the server being in renewal will be beta and players should not be focusing in progressing their characters or account. We recommend that players just log in to help us test PvP and Battleground mechanics so we can smooth out any over powered skill as soon as possible. You can also choose not to play until we announce that it is safe to play the renewal server properly.
There will be a notice every time you log into the pre-renewal live server to let you know that any progress you do will not be saved. There will also be a notice on the renewal beta server to inform you that a rollback may take place in the future while the server remains on Beta.
