Changes to the Hero Quest

Hello Dreamers!

It has been quite a long time since the requirements of the Hero Quest were modified. Since the creation of the server the Hero Quest has been expanded numerous times, with the inclusion of the Elite Hero Quest, followed by the introduction of the Hero Division System. Since the quest continues to be expanded, it became obvious that the requirements to reach the end-game were becoming too difficult and needed some change.

 

When the Elite and Division System were implemented, everyone started from 0.  Which meant nobody was facing off a Lvl 4 Elite as a Lvl 1 Elite. Fast forward a few years later and we are pretty much forcing all our newbies to fight against veterans with much more powerful equipment in order to advance in the quest. For those reasons, we have decided to make some changes to the quest in order to streamline the process of becoming an Elite Hero and hopefully make the quest less tedious for newbies. 

 

We hope that the following changes to the Hero Quest help close the gap between newbies and veterans. This is not the only plan with have to address this issue but it is the first part of our plan.

 

Hero Quest Requirements:
Fabric required reduced from 1,250 to 750
Feathers required reduced from 1,000 to 500
Destroyed Armor required reduced from 500 to 250.
 
Draconus Modifications:
The HP of the Draconus in the Draconus Room has been reduced by 25%
LUK reduced from 9999 to 999
STR reduced from  2381 to 1500
AGI reduced from 1087 to 690
DEF reduced from 89% to 70%
MDEF reduced from 86% to 75%
 
Elite Hero Quest Requirements:
Poring Cards required reduced from 500 to 250.
Baphomet Dolls required reduced from 400 to 200. (It is now dropped by Baphomet at 100%)
200 Hero Kills required replaced by 3,000 caspen dungeon monster kills.

About the 200 kills being replaced by 3000 mob kills in caspen, why not make it an alternative ( for players who doesnt want pvp )? For those who wants to finish EHQ thru PVP can do 200 kills while those who don't want to PvP can do 3000 mob kill in Caspen Dungeon. Anyways, nice update.

Those who want to PvP still have to PvP to level up elite weapons and stuff, so I don't really see the point of making an alternative. I really doubt any newbie would prefer to get 200 kills over 3,000 kills in caspen dungeon, unless they are going to farm them using alt accounts...which is something we don't want to encourage.

I'd like to thank the admin for:

 

1. Taking a step in closing the gap between novices and veterans by making the default effect of level 1 weapons and accessories as close to level 3 or 4 as possible.

2. By making Baphomet drop dolls at 100%, novices can now take on this path as a means of doing business, as well as ease up on that rather taxing requirement.

3. Modification of Draconus which will benefit novices, who typically struggle with this part of the quest due to lack of gears.

4. Changing 200 kill count to a PVM metric which:

   a. you can now avoid "going into pvp to get stronger but how to pvp when you can't compete". I'd like to note that the pvp requirement WAS a dead-end loop for most novices and it's  

       removal will be of great help (this also eliminates cases of rule-breaking e.g. farming due to the difficulty of overcoming that hurdle).

   b. They are now required to farm and thus gain knowledge of the mechanics of Caspen dungeon, which is also one of the means of earning zenies. By defaulting to that, they now

        learn of it's existence and this part of the server will no longer be underutilized.

because i have a char in B rank with 83m exp and when i check my stat in hero temple and i saw  "caspen monster kill 0" ...i have kill mobs in there

 

so i click hero debugger and i saw again....still "0"

the elit quest update (3k mobs kill in caspen)

how to get it?

will do after u get 132m exp and do EHQ

for elite hero quest, first u need rank b and 98m exp first, then take elite quest. u can found guide for that. About caspen monster, I think u need kill after finish strenght test. But I experience its may bugged at this moment, I dont know for sure, that why I open thread on bug section.

means i have to take 98m epx and do elite quest ... then killing in caspen will be counted as part of elite quest

Correct, Caspen monster kill is change of last part elite quest, kill 200x pvp ( formerly kill 400x ).  lets be Elite, and meet in pvp  :th_no1:

 

oh, dont forget do elite weapon quest after being elite hero :th_lv:

Elite Hero Quest Requirements:
Poring Cards required reduced from 500 to 250.
Baphomet Dolls required reduced from 400 to 200. (It is now dropped by Baphomet at 100%)
200 Hero Kills required replaced by 3,000 caspen dungeon monster kills.

Cold Moonlight

1. Make sure you have 700 Elite Hero Kills. This might take a while, so it might be better to save this until you've made your first weapon.

2. Have 15 of each: Fragment of Agony, Fragment of Sorrow, Fragment of Hatred, Fragment of Despair, and 40 Skeletal Armor Piece.

3. The warlock will then ask you several questions. You'll be prompted to input certain words, so enter the following in order:

  • Fear
  • Hatred
  • Agony
  • Sorrow
  • Despair
  • Death

 

That 700 Elite Hero Kill i guess it was Montagu kill before. So how is it now?? still same Montagu kill or might change it into Caspen dun kill??
