We have revamped the way Clash of Division works in terms of team balance. As you may already know, in Clash of Divisions you have players of the same division teaming up against players of other divisions. (Alpha, Beta, Delta or Zeta).
Unfortunately this system has been plagued by imbalanced teams since the event was implemented. Ever since I can remember, there is usually 1 division dominating Clash of Divisions, while the other 3 don't even bother joining due to being outnumbered. Even today, there were 15 people in CoD, and 14 of them were Betas. So..obviously other divisions don't bother joining anymore.
WELL THAT'S ABOUT TO CHANGE!
We have decided to tackle this problem by implementing two Clash of Division teams. The Red and the Blue Team. These teams will be a mix of all divisions and will be formed at the beginning of each Clash of Divisions event. This means that Blue & Red teams will have members from all 4 divisions mashed into one team.
NOW I KNOW THIS SOUNDS A BIT COMPLICATED, BUT READ ON.
When Clash of Divisions begins, you will be assigned to a random team for that particular event. Red or Blue. If the Red team has more members than the Blue team, you will go into the Blue team and vice versa. This is to ensure both teams have a similar amount of members online.
When you log out or warp to another map that's not Hero Camp or CoD map, you will be kicked out of the Blue/Red team and the team counter will get a -1, to open space for someone who will actually play that round of CoD. If you re-join, you will be placed on the same team you were originally assigned.
So yes, you will be in a team with enemy divisions, but you are still encouraged to support your original division because the score keeping is still Division Based. Division Tags are still shown, so you can rightfully decide not to attack your original division members, support them, or better yet, save their skull if they get killed by your team.
As usual, at the end of the event, the division with the most skulls sacrificed will be the winner of the event.
Every Clash of Divisions you will be placed in a new team, depending on where you are needed. However, once you are placed in a team for that specific round of CoD, you will always be on that team until the next CoD. Even if you log out, change characters or reset, you will be placed in the same team you were placed at the beginning of that CoD round.
The goal of this update is to allow all 4 divisions to enter and participate in the Clash of Divisions event without being outnumbered 10:1.
We need to make a ton of observations on the system to ensure team placements are not being abused, and that they are balanced for the most part. Its impossible for both teams to be 100% balanced in terms of skill, but at least the 2 teams will be more balanced in terms of numbers.
We are confident that with your cooperation and suggestions we will reach a point where Clash of Divisions is enjoyable for all. Please bear with us for the next few days while we smooth out the placement and team balance issues.
As of now, this update is LIVE and on BETA, so please report any and all bugs immediately. Especially any bug that enables a player to change or choose teams after they have already been placed in a team.
