If you have any question about the contest. Post it here.

Frequenty asked Q & A

Q: When is the deadline?

A: June 10, 2018.

Q: Can I just update my guide and use it to this event?

A: Yes, but you have to post it as a new topic, fully updated with the current dRO version.

Q: Can I use images from google and other websites?

A: Yes, you can as long that they are related to the guide that you are making and the full contents of your guide isn't a simple copy paste from another guide.

Q: Can I make a macro guide?

A: Yes, as long that your guide follow our policy on macro.

Q: Can I cover similar topic/feature from the existing guides?

ATM macro guides only consist of 4 posts (2 being mine) will i still be required to repost the guides even after they have been updated?

I'll make an exception on macro guides since as you said there's only 4 of them.

1. What are the criteria for judging?

You're going to choose the top 3 best guides, I assume. But that's vague. Do you prefer PVP-related guides? PVE? Item guides? Builds? Are you going to judge the guide depending on how it explained everything or are you just going to judge the guide based on its relevance to the server? In that case, that would mean all will be relevant.

2. You mentioned originality, will points be deducted when a player makes an entirely new guide based on an outdated guide?

3. How many entries can we send per person? Can we send multiple? Any limit?

4. Do you have plans of extending the deadline?

5. What if 2 players manages to make 2 guides based on a single topic, with almost the same content, how will they be judged?

6. Are we allowed to ask help from other players(or staff) to complete a guide?

7. Is there any limit on how many posts we can do on a guide thread?

8. Will the visual output of the thread be relevant?

Are you going to judge the guide depending on how it explained everything or are you just going to judge the guide based on its relevance to the server? 6. Are we allowed to ask help from other players(or staff) to complete a guide?

7. Is there any limit on how many posts we can do on a guide thread?

8. Will the visual output of the thread be relevant?

1. If only it is not possible to make multiple accounts in the forum I will let the players judge the guides because players are the one who will use them afterall. But it is impossible so GM's will simply judge them based on the ffg criteria. There will be atleast 10 judges.

  • Practicality of the guide
  • Pin/Link worthiness (is it worthy to be pinned or at least be linked in the compilation of guides?)
  • Potential impact to the server
  • Level of details
  • Originality
  • Author's creativity and Visual Appeal
  • etc

2. The topic title is not what make a guide, it's the contents. You can base your guide on an outdated guide, but as long that you write it on your own style, fully updated, then it is your guide. But you can't simply copy a guide written by others and update it, you have to write the guide on your own style.

3. There is no limit on entry, though as for winning in top 3 he can only win once obviously. Depending on the other guide he write, his guides might be added on honorable mentions.

4. I think upto June 10 is long enough. I have no plan to extend it for now.

5. Well if they have almost similar contents then the one who posted way earlier will get more credits based on originality. But again if the author is good, his creativity can still help him win. That's also the reason why we encourage players to use images that can make their guides more interesting to read.

6. Support player yes, in fact they are also allowed to join. From GM no, since they will help in judging.

7. I am not sure if I understand this one. Anyway if a player can compile his own guide specially if they are related to each other, then that's actually better. You can do whatever you want in your thread.

8. A guide is always better when it's appealing to the eyes. It also show the author's effort.
